The setup
A wife who has cheated on her billionaire husband wants to catch him doing the same, so she hires a stunning masseuse to seduce him. The twist comes in the second half of the synopsis: he is one step ahead. Every stolen moment with the masseuse becomes part of his revenge, a trap designed to take everything from his wife.
Why it stands out
This is one of the rare Candy series whose premise reads like a thriller. There is a plan, a counter-plan and someone clearly heading for a fall, and the question of who is trapping whom is already reversed before the story starts. Most five-parters give you a situation; Honey Trap in Silk gives you a scheme, and that is worth something.
- Everybody has a motive. The wife, the husband and the masseuse all play a part in the plot, although the synopsis never says what the masseuse wants for herself.
- Revenge at its core. The husband’s plan gives the story momentum and, presumably, a payoff in the final episode.
- A fortune at stake. A billionaire’s wealth raises the stakes far beyond hurt feelings.
The only caveat is length. A double-cross needs space, and five episodes don’t give it much, so expect a compact version of the idea rather than an intricate plot.
