What happens
You and your college girlfriend are heading to the coast for sun, sand and romance. Her stepmother comes along too, however, with her own idea of how the summer should play out. She proves to be more temptation than you can resist, and the synopsis hints that the real fun and games have nothing to do with the boardwalk.
Like several Candy titles, it is told in the second person, putting you in the boyfriend’s place, caught between the two women.
A single triangle, four tags
Candy’s tags, Milf, Mother, Taboo and Wife, describe it well. The stepmom is older and married, the girlfriend is right there on the trip, and a holiday brings a shared rental and loose routines. It is the classic partner’s-parent setup moved outdoors.
The change of scenery is its calling card. Plenty of Candy stories keep their forbidden affairs inside a family kitchen; this one trades the house for the beach and the boardwalk, and the tone turns lighter, breezier and more holiday-like.
What it leaves out
There is no twist in the synopsis. It never says what the girlfriend knows, what the stepmom wants beyond the obvious or how the summer ends. If you know Candy’s many stepmom series, you will recognise the shape at once: a well-worn trope in a new setting.
