The setup
Candy squeezes it into a single breathless sentence. Daisy is staying at her step-brother’s apartment for the summer, and his girlfriend is only twenty feet away. A secret from a wedding night becomes a habit he can’t break, and then the twist lands: the girlfriend wants in as well.
Why this new series is so wild
Most of Candy’s stepsister stories remain a two-person game: the step-siblings, a secret and the dread of being caught. BAD Step-Sister begins in that same place and then turns it upside down. The girlfriend, the very person the secret should be hidden from, stops being the obstacle and asks to take part. That reversal is the hook of the entire series, and the synopsis keeps it for the very end, which tells you plenty about where things are going.
The setting never lets the tension drop. A single apartment, a full summer and a girlfriend twenty feet down the hall leave no place to hide. The wedding-night detail also gives the story a history before episode one begins: Daisy and her step-brother are not strangers, they are resuming something they had already started.
