The setup
The arcade is past its prime, and Pixie Blu runs the night shift there. Insatiable and possessive, she openly watches the customers who stick around late. When one of them catches her eye, she locks the place with both of them inside and turns the night into a game with her rules. She plans to keep them there as long as she likes.
What makes it work
Not many setups in the catalogue have this much character. There is no family secret or cheating partner behind it; everything turns on one strong personality, and the synopsis keeps Pixie Blu in control from start to finish. An after-hours arcade is a fresh location for Candy, and the notion of making customers play gives the story a mischievous frame.
It skips the usual guilt as well. No one is lying to a partner and no relatives are involved, which should please anyone worn out by the catalogue’s constant taboo. Honestly, it is the kind of bold idea that keeps us excited about every new Candy release.
Good to know beforehand
The synopsis describes her as obsessive and possessive, and the lock-in is part of the appeal. That will attract some viewers and turn others off. The story also centers on her, not the customer, so don’t expect it to be told from both sides.
