The plot
The arrangement looks easy at first: he needs money and his best friend needs a house-sitter. Things get messy quickly. He ends up secretly involved with his friend’s recently divorced mother, and soon with her best friend too. Pulled between both women, he has less and less time to cover his tracks before his friend walks back in.
What works
For a five-episode series, three distinct sources of tension is a generous serving: the friendship he is betraying, the two women pulling him in different directions and a firm deadline set by his friend’s return. The divorce adds a small but useful motive, framing the mother as newly single instead of cheating.
The house-sitting setup also keeps things tight. Everything happens in a home that belongs to someone else, with his friend able to walk in at any moment, a tidy recipe for suspense. It gives the plot a built-in endpoint as well, since every house-sitting job eventually wraps up. That ticking-clock energy is exactly what makes us hit play on the next episode.
